One of the most common demon enemies, you’ve probably seen one of these guys even if you haven’t played Doom before. I almost always make these guys a top priority when it comes to clearing a room. Not only can they rip you apart in a matter of seconds, they can do it from a considerable distance. Armed with a Chaingun and a thirst for your blood, Chaingunners can be devastating if you don’t deal with them immediately.

HEAVY WEAPONS DUDE aka Chaingunner (Doom II) 3-5 clean hits on you without armor and you’re dead. They are especially deadly in groups absolutely do not underestimate these guys. While only marginally tougher than Zombiemen, these dudes are armed with shotguns and they WILL blast your ass away if you let them. While not anything to worry about on their own, in groups they can easily plink away at your health if you’re not careful. They’re armed with what looks like a rifle but they shoot pistol rounds at you. These guys are objectively the weakest enemy in the entire game both attack- and defense-wise. Please note that if an enemy drops ammo, the amount is doubled on the “I’m Too Young To Die” and “Nightmare!” skill levels. There’s a lot to cover, so this list will also be long. I’ll also add a (Doom II) next to their name if they were introduced in Doom II. Once again, instead of just giving you their health numbers, because that’s boring, I’m going to give you the average amount of shots it takes to down them from various weapons. There’s a wide variety of monsters out to get you in Doom, so being able to quickly identify what everything is will help you strategize on the fly more effectively. I’m sure something like that is in Sun Tzu’s old book. Knowing what to expect out of your enemy will give you quite the upper hand. In this post we’ll be taking a look at every demon available to fight in Doom. So, you want to play Doom! This is a follow-up to the previous part where I detailed some basic knowledge and a run-down of the game’s weapons. How To Doom Part 3 ½: Knowledge is Power – Bestiary Compendium Edition
